Comment on Who came out ahead in Microsoft-Yahoo deal?

I just posted a comment on one of the posts at Matt's blog: Who came out ahead in the Microsoft-Yahoo deal? and then thought this comment is bit too long and a bit interesting and should get a place here on my blog as well ;-) lol so here you go (Oh, yes, here I can discuss bit more than in that comment):

I Just don't understand why the hell most of the people over here started voting Google, without even having that as an option. Hey you die hard Big G lovers.. Don't you see Matt didn't put Google in the vote options, STOP flattering him with irrelevant votes. (Yes, I love the G too, but that doesn't make sense to move out of the topic!!, however I'll also move off the topic a bit at the end of my comment :P )

Yes for me Both of them the Microsoft and the Yahoo! are the winner, at some points MS wins and on some other Yahoo! However I've voted here for Microsoft, because at first they look to be the winner, but when you see into deep you see Yahoo is also going to get benefits. But I really feel if they keep improvisations and come together with some drastic changed plans on the search advertisement front as well, It may be a threat to Google however, not in near 3-4 years, but surely after that, (however I know Google never sits dumb, so there G may strike again :D )

And yeah those suckers who are talking about the search results, let me tell you, most of the people I know have regularly started using Bing n its not that they stopped using Google, but see what I'm trying to tell you that Bing has started intruding the market of Big G.

Also even I've noticed the results on some front Bing gives more relevant results than Google, meanwhile its true that Bing is not yet as intelligent and wide as Google. I mean if you ask Google about the current time in New Delhi, It will tell you the Current time and then the other relevant results, But Bing has not grown up yet to show you the time, yet they show the relevant results as well. Common you know Bing is still a baby, but yeah it has born with some intelligent so just watch it grow (if MS fead it with the right food :D )

ah, what I wrote this long comment? that I generally don't do :( , hmm so now I plan to post it into my blog post as well ;-)(yeah, 'm a lazy blogger :P ) !!

Key to Successful Blog

Stumble Upon

3Cs concept for successful blogging:

Key to Successful Blog A blog is the best Web2.0 social media tool to interact with your audience and spread the word. But until a blog succeeds to grab audience attention its useless to have it in place. For making a Blog really successful, you need Three Cs:
  • Content (Unique & Communicating)
  • Consistency (Frequency)
  • Closeness (Stick to your niche)

This is the basic concept for a particular blog, and in fact the first two Cs are a must for successful blogging.

Content:

Content is the most crucial part of the blog and for successful content, the blogger should keep in mind, the following Five Cs

  1. Completeness: The content of the blog should be complete in all aspects, whether in explanatory term or in grammatical term.
  2. Conciseness: Content of the blog should be summarized as far as possible, so that it doesn’t create any boredom for the viewer.
  3. Clarity: As far as clarity is concerned the content of the blog should be clearly written and explain without the use of any misleading or difficult words, so that it can fastly grasp the viewer’s attention and lately their mind.
  4. Concreteness: The content of the blog should be concrete, rigid and specific.
  5. Correctness: And lastly, proper care of grammatical errors, punctuations should be taken care of so that correctness of the content can be clearly defined. Also to add this proper mode of communication should be taken care of.

No doubt Content is the 'King'... anywhere whether a blog, site or forum, The Unique content does Miracles, but when you are talking about the blog, it matters more, cuz there are hundreds and thousands of blogs lying on the web. And people don’t want to read something they have already read somewhere. This is another reason for the content to be ‘Unique’ to create interest into the visitor with something new and different.

This eventually creates a trust factor towards the blog as well. Place yourself as a visitor for a moment and think …when you find something new and interesting you would love to bookmark it or visit the blog again for something new… isn’t it? That interest lets the user stick to the blog post. Also the content should be communicating. The talking content keeps the audience out of boredom.

Consistency:

The consistency is another crucial thing. The more frequent you post, the more it keeps your blog alive and happening. If a user returns to your blog after 5 or 10 days to read something new but finds the same post hanging there, it might never return to the blog because of the lack of new posts.

The consistency shows how much a blogger is involved with the blog. In other sense, we can say how much a blogger post new content on the blog. A consistent blogger time to time ads new, latest and valuable information so that the user is in touch with current trend. A blog unposted for a long time seeks no valuable data for the user.

Closeness:

While posting a blog, blogger should keep in mind that the content of the blog should be as far as possible close to the specific niche of his blog concerned. The information should not lag behind the objective of the blog as unnecessary information will make blog uninteresting for the user and will also deform the useful information. The Closeness can be defined as how close you keep your writing to your niche while writing new posts for your blog, it compiles all the posts related to one topic.

The blog can make its place as a resource for that particular topic & user will return every now & then for its any query regarding that topic. So these 3 Cs can work miracles for your blog to bring bulk of Traffic.....

Beware as Twitter: 'Gone Phishing'

Twitter Twitter Blog: Gone Phishing - As mentioned on the twitter blog, Twitter have caught phishing scam. Yes twitter Users from yesterday have been reporting spam direct messages from other users with link to a twitter look alike site which asks you to login and if you ignore the URL at address bar and enter your Username & Password .. 'You'r Hacked' !!!

Twitter have caught phishing which was being circulated through DMs ( Direct Messages ) last night. Even I've got a similar DM.. at around 8 AM today "Hey, i found a website with your pic on it... LOL check it out here http://twitterblog.access-l..." from one of my twitter friend. Thanks to twitter admin who posted the message about this at the home, which even helped me, otherwise i wud have checked the #Phishing link sent to my DMs. And I hope no one in my followers list at twitter have recevied such DM from me. :| ! So before clicking on a suspected link sent you in your Direct message box Beware Tweeples.

Update 12:30 PM, 04 Jan 09: It seems as twitter have now controlled that phishing issue, as the warning message they were showing has disappeared now also that DM, containing the link to phishing site has been automatically deleted now. :) , Cheers Twitter !!

Update 11:30 PM, 05 Jan 09: Got another direct message (DM) quoting - "fixed it.. hehe here is that blog i wanted to show you http://twitterblogs.access-logins.com/login" . That means twitter is not yet completely recovered from that phishing issue, so you guys need to take care and check twice before clicking a link in your DM from a friend on twitter as well as before logging in using your twitter user name and password with any look alike site of twitter.

however today I noticed another warning message displayed at the user home of twitter- "Warning! Don't sign in to fake Twitter.com from a DM. Read more on our blog." which indicates the same as i mentioned above.

Thanks,
